The Daughter Shrine of Ohio

On March 19, 2012 the Schoenstatt of Ohio family was given permission by the National Presidium of Schoenstatt in Wisconsin to “spiritually adopt” the Mariengarten Shrine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  We offer our prayers and sacrifices to the fruitfulness of this shrine.

‘When God appeared to Moses in the burning bush he called out to him: “Remove the sandals from your feet for the place where you stand is holy ground.” (Ex. 3:5) This concept is also applicable to our shrine. The shrine is holy ground because there heaven touches earth when the divine reality merges together with the human reality in a holy covenant of love. The shrine is a holy place because there God works through Mary, causing a new fountain of grace to spring forth for the transformation of the earth. Therefore, when we are in need of anything, we can go to the shrine and find the best, the greatest, the most of what we need.’ (Introduction to Schoenstatt 4, 39)

Let us pray for the grace and the desire to build the “daughter shrine” in the state of Ohio.  Join us in this prayer as we await the “open door” leading to the place.

Filled with love and confidence
We want to build your shrine
Give us the grace, show us the place
As planned in the Father’s design
